GSP groups, DNO regions, and how battery location affects transmission constraints
This interactive map shows the location of each GSP group / DNO region in Great Britain, as well as the major transmission constraints.
In some GSP groups, the location of a battery within the region can make a big difference depending on which side of a constraint it sits:
- North of Scotland: Can be behind or in front of the B2 wind constraint
- North Western / Northern: Can be behind or in front of the B7a wind constraint
- Eastern: Can be unconstrained, behind (East of) the EC5 wind constraint, behind (South of) the LE1 demand/interconnector constraint, or behind (South of) the B14 demand constraint
- Southern / South Eastern: Parts of these regions can be behind the LE1 and B14 constraints
