Natural gas
Natural gas prices are modeled at the zonal level, with each NYISO zone mapped to a regional pipeline hub. Four hubs are used to capture the geographic variation in gas pricing across the state: Tennessee Z4 200L, Iroquois Z2, Tennessee Z6, and Transco Z6 NY. PJM, ISO-NE, and MISO each use a single representative hub.
Short-term gas prices are sourced from CME natural gas futures. Long-run prices are blended with EIA Annual Energy Outlook projections. Hub-specific basis differentials are applied to reflect regional pricing differences.

Coal
Coal prices are basin-specific. Four basins are represented — Northern Appalachia, Central Appalachia, Illinois Basin, and Powder River Basin — each mapped to the zones they supply. Historical prices are sourced from EIA spot data; forward prices from EIA AEO projections.
